Vibration friction wear test

Oscillating vibratory friction wear test

In the case of vibratory friction wear, a frictional solid contact occurs with oscillating transverse movement. The ISAF test rig allows loads up to 50 N at a frequency between 5 and 30 Hz and an amplitude between 0.5 and 5 mm. The frequency can be fixed or can be varied cyclically between two values. The stress and friction forces can be documented online. In addition to pure unlubricated solid body friction, tests with additional abrasive material, moisture or fluid intermediate material, cooled by compressed air or heated by hot air are also possible.

The shape of the specimen to be tested is freely selectable within a wide range, so that in addition to standard geometries (pins, plates, balls, rollers, ... ), simple components such as hoses etc. are also possible.
