Hydroerosion test

Hydroerosion refers to damage to component surfaces caused by liquid flow. The hydroerosion test uses a high-pressure water jet to simulate damage caused by liquids. The angle at which the water jet strikes the material surface has a significant influence on the damage. A test rig has been set up at ISAF (Figure 1) that enables wear testing at various angles of incidence. In addition to the angle, the jet velocity can be adjusted over a wide range.
