ASTM G132-96 (2013) – Two-body abrasive wear

Two-body abrasive wear according to ASTM G132-96 (2013)

The tests described in ASTM G132-96 (2013) are designed to determine two-body abrasive wear. The abrasive particles are fixed to a carrier material, over which the sample is then drawn. One variant of this  standard is used at ISAF.

Sandpaper process (Pin-on-Table)

In the abrasive paper method, the rotating sample body is guided in a meandering manner over an abrasive paper with a defined contact pressure, Figure 2. Here too, the movement serves to keep new abrasive particles in use.
