Testing of technical knives

Technical blades are tested in a test setup in which the various blade types are rotated through wear materials selected to match the tribological stress conditions. The wear media can be dry, damp, or wet; they are typically multimodal and consist of a wide variety of mineral and organic components. The achievable cutting speeds range up to 4 m/s. The tests are generally performed on components or on specimens machined from original components.
